The Syracuse Crunch defeated the Belleville Senators 5-4 at CAA Arena on Saturday.
Cole Reinhardt, Rourke Chartier, Brennan Saulnier, and Egor Sokolov scored for the Senators.
The Crunch claimed a commanding early lead with four goals in less than 10 minutes, prompting the Senators to switch goalies. Logan Flodell was replaced with Antoine Bibeau. Later in the period, the Senators got on the board, making it 4-1.
The Senators claimed three more goals in the second period, as the Crunch claimed one more, to keep their lead going into the third period. Neither team was able to score, leaving the Crunch to take home the victory.
Senators head coach Troy Mann said the first ten minutes had decided the game.
“We were right there. We easily could have had a point, and it’s unfortunate that really the first ten minutes cost us the hockey game,” said Mann.
The Senators play again on Wednesday when they travel to take on the Utica Comets.
