Despite playing their fourth game in five days the Trenton Golden Hawks were able to reach back for a little extra to rally past the Haliburton Huskies 4-3 in Minden.
Mitch Lafay tied the game at 11:03 of the third period and Jack Nayshak netted the winner 3:41 later. Lafay also had two assists while Austin D’Orazio and Ryan Holmes added singles.
William Dyke stopped 27 shots.
The win moved Trenton one point ahead of Haliburton into second place in the OJHL’s South East Conference.
The Golden Hawks host the Wellington Dukes on Friday night at the “Dunc”.
The Monsters are coming
It’s a little late for Hallowe’en but the Monsters will invade Belleville tonight (Wed) as the Senators host Cleveland at the CAA Arena.
Belleville sits in 4th place in the AHL’s North Division with a 5-6-1 record. Cleveland is in third at 7-5.
Yesterday Belleville acquired forward Brennan Saulnier, from the Laval Rocket for future considerations. The 28 year old Saulnier had been with the Trois Rivieres Lions of the ECHL.

It’s silver for Danford and Rogers
It’s a silver medal for Madoc’s Ben Danford and Belleville’s Braedyn Rogers from the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Langley British Columbia.
Their Canada Red squad fell 11-3 to the United States in the final of the 7 team tournament.
Both are defencemen.
Danford now returns to the Oshawa Generals while Rogers re-joins the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League
