A Quebec man is facing charges following a police chase in Belleville on Wednesday.
Around 7:15 a.m., Quinte West OPP attempted to stop a vehicle on the eastbound 401, near the Wallbridge-Loyalist Road exit.
Initially the driver stopped for officers, but then fled the scene.
A short time later, police received a call about a white Jeep Wrangler striking a pole in the 10 Acre Truck Stop parking lot, with the driver fleeing on foot.
He was discovered a short distance away and police determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Toronto.
Tery Roodmaer Philippe, 19 years old, of Lavalle Quebec, was charged with dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
