A former special needs seniors residence in Belleville could soon be getting a new lease on life.
The city’s Planning Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on an application to rezone the property at 228 Dundas Street East to allow for a residence housing people with special needs with no age restrictions on Monday.
The property currently holds a vacant renovated three-storey building that previously had 67 apartments for seniors.
Under the proposal the new residence would be operated by Addictions and Mental Health Services-Hastings Prince Edward and Pathways to Independence.
The planning committee will not make a decision on the application Monday.
The meeting begins at 5:30 Monday at City Hall and can be seen on the City of Belleville’s YouTube site.
