Prince Edward County’s new Destination Marketing and Management Organization “Visit The County” has appointed its first Executive Director.
Eleanor R. Cook who comes from a neighbouring Regional Tourism Organization, has also served as a professor of tourism marketing.
She has been a part-time resident of Carrying Place for several years and will be moving to the area permanently.
Cook says, “I am genuinely humbled to be able to continue to work with tourism business owners and community partners in Prince Edward County, and to have found such an intrinsic appointment with Visit The County.”
Rebecca Mackenzie, Visit The County Board Chair says, “Eleanor’s experience with the Ontario tourism industry, along with her past municipal experience, makes her the perfect fit for this much-anticipated and high-profile position in Prince Edward County.”
Visit The County was established earlier this year to oversee tourism services and marketing in Prince Edward County.
