Two people have been arrested after several break and enters at a business in Trenton.
Quinte West OPP say they were patrolling downtown Trenton around 2 a.m. Monday morning after two suspicious people were spotted on CCTV footage behind a business around Front and Elgin streets.
Officers patrolled the area but weren’t able to locate the individuals.
Hours later, around 4 a.m., it’s alleged that the same individuals were spotted on CCTV footage at the same business.
Officers patrolled the area again where they were alerted to a noise behind the building.
Police located two males inside the building and after a short foot chase made an arrest.
Forty-three-year-old Shane O’Sullivan and 37-year-old Shawn Hachey, both from Quinte West, were charged with the following:
- Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Theft over $5000
- Mischief under $5000
- Fail to comply with a probation order
O’Sullivan was additionally charged with possession of break-in instruments.
Both were held in custody and scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on October 31, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
