The Campbellford Memorial Hospital says it is extending its temporary closure of its emergency department.
The closure was initially expected to end on October 29 at 8 a.m. It is now being extended to October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
CMH cited an ongoing high volume of COVID-19 cases and capacity challenges at an “aging facility” as reasons for the extension.
The hospital says it anticipates the situation to stabilize over the next 24-48 hours.
Those looking for emergency services are recommended to go to these facilities:
- Northumberland Hills Hospital, 1000 DePalma Drive, Cobourg
- Quinte Healthcare Corporation – Trenton Memorial Hospital, 242 King Street, Trenton
