Belleville police responded after reports someone was threatening people in the city’s west end Wednesday night.
Officers responded to a west end residential neighborhood in the area of Tripp Avenue and Elgin Street around 7:30.
There they learned a man had threatened several people with a knife.
An unidentified 39-year-old Belleville man was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and threatening.
