The YMCA Amazing Race Quinte is back for a second year.
The event being held October 16 will see teams of two to four travel to different locations round Belleville and Quinte using clues and their cars to complete some fun challenges all while raising money for the YMCA.
YMCA Belleville General Manager Amanda Smith says funds raised go to the Strong Communities Campaign.
“Our Strong Communities Program helps to support individuals or families who are in need of financial assistance so that they can come and access programs at the YMCA.”
About $10,000 was raised last year.
Co-chairs of this year’s Amazing Race are Patricia Guernsey and Ken Schmidt.
The event starts at 250 Sidney Street at noon with a BBQ.
Entry fee is $50 per person, those under 18 are free.
Participants can register at eventbrite.ca.
Smith says volunteers are also still needed to run the event.
“So if anyone is looking for some hours, volunteer hours, maybe some high school students who are still looking for hours to complete before graduation, please come talk to us at the Y. There’s a variety of volunteer positions that would be available.”
