The Wellington Dukes dismantled the Toronto Patriots 11 to 3 in Wellington on Friday.
Lucas Lapalm scored a hat trick for the dukes, with two goals in the first period and another in the third. Edward Moskowitz, Corbin Roach, Jaxon Boyer, Nate Woods, Jacob Dietz, and Jacob Vreugdenhill also scored for the Dukes.
The penalty-filled first period saw the Dukes claim an early lead and hold onto it throughout the second and third periods.
Meanwhile the Trenton Golden Hawks defeated the North York Rangers 3 to 2 in front of over 600 fans at Duncan Memorial Arena.
Duncan Grube, Matthew Cato, and Jack Natyshak scored for the Golden Hawks.
The Rangers claimed an early lead, scoring twice in the first period before the Golden Hawks could get any goals. The Golden Hawks came back scoring in the penalty-filled second period to tie the game and secured the game winner almost halfway through the third.
