Queen Elizabeth School in Picton is for sale.
Monday night the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board officially declared the building and property as surplus to its needs.
Prince Edward County council has recently indicated it is interested in the school property for affordable housing purposes.
Meanwhile the school board learned that last school year, its seven secondary schools produced 418 Ontario Scholars, up by 47 from the previous year.
An Ontario Scholar is a student who completes six grade 12 courses with an 80% average or higher.
