Telephone voting will not be available in the City of Quinte West in the upcoming municipal election.
At Monday’s meeting council learned that the telephone system needed council approval by the end of
May so there would be enough time to be implemented.
A staff report on council’s agenda Monday indicated telephone voting would be taking place October 24 however
new information forced a change of mind.
Voting in Quinte West will be by internet only.
Those uncomfortable with technology can go to an internet voting “help centre”
for personal assistance in casting a ballot.
