Starting this week seven local banks throughout Quinte West (Scotiabank Trenton Town Centre and Downtown, RBC Brighton & Trenton, Alterna Savings and Credit Union Ltd., TD Bank, & Kawartha Credit Union) will be fundraising in their branches to raise funds for a mammogram machine at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
This fundraiser is in connection with the Scotiabank TMHF Halloween BOObash Gala happening Saturday, October 29, 2022.
“Investing in our communities has always been a strong focus for Scotiabank. The hospital is near and dear to
many people in our community, and our teams are happy to come together to support a fundraiser which has
such a meaningful impact in the community we live and work in. With some fun, we are hoping to get the
support of our community and be able to raise some additional funds for TMH,” expressed Michelle Mackay
Branch Manager of Scotiabank Town Centre Trenton.
Each branch has been tasked with decorating a donation bin and linking it to the Halloween BOObash theme.
Banks will be given until October 7, 2022 to raise funds. At the end of the month each bank donation bin will
be judged and donations will be collected. People are encouraged to head into these local banks check out
their decor and donate.
Kim Lee, branch manager from Alterna Savings explains why they are participating. “Every year Quinte First,
now Alterna Savings has participated in the TMH Bankers Bed Race, raising funds to purchase smart beds
for Trenton Memorial Hospital. This year we were happy to participate in the BOObash raising funds to
purchase a new mammogram machine for the hospital. We all know of someone who had or has breast cancer
and want to support them.”
This year Scotiabank presents the TMHF Halloween BooBash, an interactive virtual evening
of fun, fine food and games. According to Jennifer Rainbird and Arlene Larosa, this year’s chairs of the Gala
Committee, “It’s going to be the party of the year. We will have an online auction
full of getaways, and more that you can bid on. Boyd Sullivan will be teeing up the must-haves at the live
auction, there will be performances by the Impish Grins, costume contests and so much more.”
Purchase your Halloween BOObash dinner tickets and/or sponsorship prior to September 16, 2022 to be
entered to win a set of two tickets to the NHL pre–season game in Belleville on September 30,
2022.
