A motorcycle ride is taking place in Prince Edward County and looking to raise money to pay for therapy sessions for victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking.
Motorcyclists will be riding through Prince Edward County as part of the Charity Ride for Heal with Horses Therapy Farm.
Collaborative specialist for Heal with Horses, Lisa Rashotte, talks about how the event came together.
“One of my friends that lives next door to me, actually, is part of a bike club in Trenton,” Rashotte explained to Quinte News. “So we got talking about a charity ride to raise money for human trafficking and victims of domestic violence. So that’s how it came to fruition.”
Rashotte says there are multiple community partners that are helping with the event.
“We’ve reached out to the human trafficking unit, as well as our local OPP and then 22 other agencies that are involved or have some sort of affiliation around supporting human trafficking in domestic violence,” said Rashotte.
A referral form will be available for those who would like to access the funds raised from the charity ride.
The ride is being held at 997 Danforth Rd. on September 10.
There will be a BBQ, 50/50 draw, and live music.
Tickets are $25 for a rider, $10 for a passenger, and $5 for the BBQ.
Registration for the event will be begin at 8:30 a.m. with the ride starting at 9:30 a.m.
