Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is involved after an impaired driving arrest in Quinte West earlier this month.
Quinte West OPP arrested a 60-year-old in relation to a collision around 8:45 p.m. on August 5.
The SIU tells Quinte News in an email that the man was taken to Quinte West’s OPP detachment and held in custody.
Police say due to the man’s behaviour, officers entered the cell where a struggle ensued and the man was subdued.
The man was taken to hospital.
The man then informed police that he was injured as a result of the arrest on August 23.
The SIU is now investigating.
