Belleville police responded to 225 calls for service over a 72-hour period from 5 a.m. on August 19, 2022 to 5 a.m. on August 22, 2022
IMPAIRED
Belleville police have laid charges after a serious crash on Moira Street West near Wallbridge-Loyalist Road last month. Just after midnight July 12, a head-on collision sent three people to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police have now charged 26-year-old Brandon Pomfret of Shannonville with two counts pf impaired driving causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and two counts of driving with more than the legal amount of alcohol causing bodily harm. Pomfret will appear in court September 22.
DRUG ARREST
A man wanted by police outside of Belleville faces drug charges after being arrested in the city Friday night. Belleville police spotted a man known to them walking on North Front Street. He was arrested and searched and 15 grams of fentanyl were found in his possession. Facing charges is 39-year-old Belleville man Ronald McCloskey.
WARRANTS
On August 21, 2022 at 10 p.m., Belleville police attended a convenience store for an unwanted female. The female was wanted by Belleville Police for several outstanding arrest warrants. As a result, 36-year-old Katie Cuffe of Belleville was arrested for theft and two counts of fail to comply with a release order. She was later released with a court date of September 22, 2022.
