Belleville police responded to 83 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on August 18, 2022 to 5 a.m. on August 19, 2022.
Breach of Release Conditions
On August 18, 2022 at 8:32 p.m., Belleville police were called to a John Street residence for a report of a female screaming. Police spoke to the female and the male involved in the incident. A check on the two involved parties revealed that the female had conditions not to communicate with the male due to a prior domestic assault. As a result, an 18-year-old Belleville female was arrested for breaching her release condition and held for a show cause hearing on August 19, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Warrant
On August 19, 2022 at 3:42 a.m., Belleville police were called by the OPP advising they had a male arrested who was wanted by the Belleville police for fail to comply with a release order and mischief under $5,000. The warrants were related to a domestic incident on August 15, 2022. As a result, a 53-year-old male of no fixed address was turned over to the Belleville police and later released with a court date of September 26, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
