Another vacant plant in Quinte West has been sold.
CEO of the Quinte Economic Development Commission Chris King said Thursday that the former Sonoco paper mill in Glen Miller has been sold.
King did not offer details except to say a retrofit of the building was underway and that the new industry is not related to the paper-making business.
The buyer is expected to announce more detail in the near future. The Sonoco mill was closed in the summer of 2020, putting more than 100 people out of work.
Not long ago it was announced that the Nestle plant in Trenton had been purchased by a frozen food company based out of Tillsonburg.
