Hospice Quinte has received a $12,000 gift thanks to a local golf tournament.
The Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company raised the money last week at their annual charity golf tournament.
More than 100 golfers took part in the event at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Brighton with all proceeds benefitting Hospice Quinte’s The Comfort of Home annual fundraising campaign.
“As Board Chair for the Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company, I had the privilege of selecting a charity to receive the proceeds from this year’s golf tournament and I chose Hospice Quinte because I have seen firsthand the very special care and support Hospice provides to individuals at end-of-life, and their loved ones,” says Fred Lang. “We are fortunate to have a best-in-class hospice facility in our area and we are proud that this donation will help to support quality care and compassion for those in need during a very difficult and emotional time.”
“We are very grateful to have been chosen as this year’s lucky recipients of the Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance Company’s charity golf tournament,” says Hospice Quinte Executive Director, Jennifer May-Anderson. “This $12,000 contribution to The Comfort of Home campaign helps our organization to deliver world-class hospice palliative care across the Quinte region this year.”
Hospice Quinte’s The Comfort of Home campaign goal for 2022-2023 is $500,000 with donations allowing the organization to provide free access to hospice as well as caregiver and bereavement support services, including those being provided at its renowned Stan Klemencic Care Centre.
