A Deseronto has been charged with cruelty to animals.
In July, Lennox and Addington OPP began an investigation with the assistance of Animal Welfare Services and Control after receiving reports of an injured animal and animal abuse at a residence in Deseronto.
An arrest was made Tuesday.
Adam Hayes, 39 years old, from Deseronto is charged with:
• Cruelty to animals – unnecessary pain, suffering or injury – two counts
• Cause damage or injury to animal or bird – fail to provide suitable/adequate food, water, care, shelter – two counts
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
