It’s a scaled down version but the Hastings County Plowing Match makes its return later this month.
Hastings County Plowmen Association President Clare Dracup says it is coming up August 17 and 18 in Quinte West following a two-year hiatus due to COVID.
“It’s on the Striker family farm just east of Frankford on Frankford Road. It’s the 100th anniversary of the Striker family being on that farm this year.”
Dracup says while all the plowing events will go ahead, this year’s event will be smaller with no tented city as in the past.
“Our volunteer base was, was shrinking a little bit. So it just was the, the thoughts of the committee that we just kinda, slow down a little bit for this year and see what kind of a turnout we have.”
There will still be a few vendors, an antique display, a few food booths and some children’s activities.
