The City of Belleville has lowered the flag at City Hall to half staff in honour of former Mayor Robin Jeffrey who passed away Monday.
She was in her mid-90s.
Jeffrey served as a city alderman from 1968-1972 and then as mayor from 1973-1975.
Some of her greatest accomplishments throughout her time in office include working with the conservation authority and the city’s parks department to preserve and protect the city’s parklands, being instrumental in saving and restoring the Glanmore National Historic Site and serving as an ambassador for the international outreach program with Lahr, Germany – a program that has been in place for 50 years.
The flag at City Hall will be lowered until Tuesday.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
