City staff have been working diligently to deal with the aftermath of the June 16 severe weather event.
Crews have made numerous rounds across the city to collect branches and debris brought out to the street by residents since then. As such, curbside collection will cease until the regularly scheduled fall collection resumes in October. The Leaf and Yard Waste Depot located at 31 Wallbridge Cres. will remain open and can be used to dispose of any other branches or debris from the storm during normal hours of operations. More information is available online. Staff will continue working on any outstanding tree work orders, and issues that were identified with City-owned trees.
βI want to say a special thank you to all of our City staff who have worked extremely hard to clean up the city after the storm,β said Mayor Mitch Panciuk. βIt was a huge undertaking and their effort was often above and beyond the call of duty. They care passionately about our City and it shows. Thank you also to our residents for their cooperation understanding as we begin to move back to regular operations of the City. I am so proud of how our community has come together since this significant event.β
