While the number of building permits in Prince Edward County issued in June was down from last year, the value of those permits are worth more.
In Prince Edward County’s latest building stats report, the county says 92 permits were issued in June. That is down from 101 from June of last year.
But, the county says the construction value of those permits is over $25.4 million. That’s up from over $23.9 million from June of last year.
The majority of the value comes from new homes being built in the area, accounting for over $18.5 million of last month’s construction value.
A total of 20 permits was issued for new houses
For the first six months of the year, 503 permits were issued for a value of nearly $134 million.
That compares to 478 permits valued at nearly $79 million for the same period last year.
