Fewer building permits were issued in the Municipality of Brighton in June compared to the same time last year.
In a new report, the municipality says a total of 21 building permits were issued in the month of June. That’s down from 40 building permits issued in June of 2021.
To date, 117 building permits have been issued this year. That’s down from 149 at this point last year.
The overall estimated cost of the building permits was also down.
$3,800,400 in building permits were issued in the month of June. That’s down from $10,138,000 this time in June 2021.
At this point, the total estimated cost of building permits issued this year is at $27,481,400.
That is significantly down from the $81,585,000 at this point last year. However, last year’s total includes the $48 million retirement residence being built in the area.
If the retirement residence were to be subtracted from last year’s estimated cost, last year’s building permits would be estimated to have cost $33,585,000.
