Belleville’s building numbers so far this year are more than double what they were through the first six months of 2021.
The city’s Building Department reports 90 permits with a construction value of $12.4 million were handed out in June compared to 81 permits worth $4.9 million during the same month last year.
Three new commercial projects account for just under $6 million of last month’s total.
Year-to-date, there has been $101.3 million worth of construction across the City of Belleville, up from $49.3 million through June 30 of 2021.
Building activity for the entire year in 2021 was just over $126.6 million.
