The Children’s Foundation Annual Gala came back in a big way, raising a record amount.
Following a two-year absence due to the pandemic, the Guardian Angel Gala held Saturday night in Belleville raised $232,562.
The theme was “The Rat Pack Gala – A Swinging Affair.”
This year’s Guardian Angel, Bernie Ouellet was honoured by the more than 200 people in attendance for his dedication to organizations like the YMCA and Rotary Loves Kids events.
Gala chair, Liz Lehtinen says, “Once again our community demonstrated how generous it is in supporting young people that need help. Celebrating Bernie Ouellet and all that he has done for our community, inspired everyone to reach deep and help children and youth at risk of abuse or neglect. There are so many people and businesses in the Hastings, Northumberland and Prince Edward Counties who supported this event, and we are grateful to every single one who donated, sponsored, volunteered their time and resources, and came out to enjoy an amazing in-person event that was long overdue. Thank you to everyone and especially to our Angel Bernie Ouellet for allowing us to celebrate his amazing contributions to our community, while raising money for children and youth.”
All donations will go towards the Reach for Success Bursary and Scholarship program, Camps of Hope program and Playing for Keeps program.
