Another Belleville city councillor is seeking reelection.
Ward 2 Councillor Bill Sandison filed his nomination papers for the October municipal election at City Hall Friday morning.
Sandison, who was first elected in 2018, says he is proud of the many accomplishments council achieved over the last four years but says they still have work to do in a number of areas including social housing, health services and public health.
Sandison serves on multiple committees; Finance Committee Chair, Transit Operations Advisory Committee Chair, HPE Public Health Board (Finance Chair) and Protective Services Advisory Committee Chair and is a member of the Centre and South Hastings Waste Services Board (Vice-Chair), Committee of Adjustment, Community and Human Resources Committee, Hastings Quinte Long Term Care Committee, Planning Advisory Committee, Green Task Force and the Economic Destination Development Committee.
Current Ward 2 Councillor Paul Carr is also seeking reelection, the only other candidate in the Ward so far.
There are four candidates running in Ward 1 including current Councillor Carol Feeney.
Also running are Lisa Anne Chatten, Barbara Enright-Miller and Nick Boretski.
There are two candidates for the mayor’s chair. Mitch Panciuk is seeking reelection while former Mayor Neil Ellis is running again.
