Another new festival is coming to Belleville.
The city’s first ever Caribbean Festival will be held in the Downtown District June 25 celebrating the culture through carnival arts, music, costume, dance and cuisine.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk says the Caribbean Festival brings another layer of fun and excitement to the downtown, while embracing the diversity which makes Belleville such a great city.
The festival is being organized by the city’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.
Front Street will be closed between Victoria and Bridge Streets for the festival which will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wrapping up the celebration on the main stage at 5 p.m. will be a performance by Juno award winning artist Sean Jones and band The Righteous Echo.
The Caribbean Festival follows the annual Downtown @ Dusk event taking place Friday, June 24 from 4 to 10 p.m. in the same closed area of Front Street.
