Belleville will be the host for the first Ontario Hockey League Officiating Prospect Development Camp Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Seventy-two of the top officiating prospects from across North America will converge on the city along with officiating managers from the OHL, NHL and Hockey Canada.
The Combine is being hosted by Belleville native Jackie Jarrell who is a fitness consultant with the NHL.
Officials with the OHL were familiar with Jarrell’s work with the NHL.
Jarrell is the owner of Gold Performance training on Blessington Road where the off-ice training will take place. On-ice sessions will be at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Jarrell says Belleville could become the permanent host of this event in the future.
