Candidates for this October’s municipal elections are trickling in.
As we begin the week there’s just one new name on the nomination list for Belleville city council.
Nick Boretski will run in Ward 1, urban Belleville.
He joins Barbara Enright-Miller and Lisa Anne Chatten as candidates in that ward. Paul Carr is the only candidate so far in Ward 2, Thurlow.
Only incumbent Mitch Panciuk has declared as a candidate for mayor of Belleville.
There will be at least three candidates for mayor of Prince Edward County in October.
Joining incumbent Mayor Steve Ferguson and former councillor Dianne O’Brien will be Kyle Mayne.
Mayne ran for council in South Marysburgh ward in the 2014 local election, losing to then council candidate Steve Ferguson.
The rest of the county nomination list is unchanged from last week.
There doesn’t seem to be any rush to file nomination papers to run for city council in Quinte West.
The candidate list remains the same as it did a week ago.
Allan Dewitt will run again in Sidney Ward and David McCue hopes to represent Murray Ward again.
