Spotlight on the community’s arts and culture scene

A relatively new and growing event gets underway Wednesday in the City of Belleville.

The Mayor’s Week of the Arts kicks off with a reception at the John M. Parrot Gallery at the public library.

Mayor Mitch Panciuk tells Quinte News the area has a vibrant arts community that improves quality of life and attracts visitors and new residents alike.

“This week is designed to bring a spotlight to it, to let people know more of the offerings in our area and I’m really excited that we’ve been able to expand it this year, particularly coming out of COVID.”

Some of the events during the Mayor’s Week of the Arts are a Plein Air Festival, an outdoor concert featuring the Quinte Symphony and the Impish Grins and the Chamber of Commerce Family Funfest.
