A new corporate logo maybe could soon be in the works for Hastings County.
The Finance, Property and Personnel Committee is recommending one consistent brand for the county that would be used by all the departments.
In February 2022, Hastings County Council approved the issuing of a request for proposal for the redesign and update of the county website as well as the development of updated county branding.
The current corporate county branding has been in place since before 2014 and is reflected in the colours used on the website and the county logo itself.
A report to the committee indicated: “The Economic & Tourism Development team created the ‘Wildly Authentic’ brand in 2018 and it has achieved great success in branding the county as a known entity. Having two different brands can be confusing and inhibit the strength of a brand of an organization. In an effort to enhance and broaden the recognition of the county as a sense of place, and in our service delivery as well, staff feel that it is important to create one consistent brand for Hastings County. It should also be noted that the use of the county crest would remain as a historical symbol of the county and for the exclusive use of the Warden and council.”
This recommendation was approved in committee and goes to county council for final approval later this month.
