Quinte West is celebrating National Public Works Week from May 15 – 21, 2022. The employees in our public works department all have crucial roles in ensuring the success of our community, and each role impacts the quality of life for residents of Quinte West. Public works professionals are always ready to serve their communities and are resilient in the face of unexpected challenges.
All year round, dedicated public works professionals maintain our water, roads, trails, parks, equipment, garbage disposal and more. From ensuring clean drinking water is available to repairing road damage to minimize accidents, the public works department is dedicated to the safety and satisfaction of all residents. Beyond maintaining our systems, the public works department constantly works towards upgrading the infrastructure that allows the city to thrive and grow.
The theme this year for Public Works Week is, “Ready and Resilient.”
“Our essential public works employees deserve a round of applause for working tirelessly to improve our city and make life better for our residents,” says Director of Public Works and Environmental Services Chris Angelo. “Their dedication does not go unnoticed and we dedicate this week to show our appreciation of their continuous efforts year-round.”
“National Public Works Week is a great opportunity to recognize our tremendous public works staff and the hard work they do around the clock to ensure our parks, facilities, infrastructure projects and developments are what they are today,” says Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “They are integral to our city and we celebrate and thank them for everything they do.”
