RECREATION FACILITIES
Belleville city council will decide on moving ahead with the building of two new recreation facilities at its meeting Monday.
City staff is recommending Kiley Paving Ltd. build a basketball court in the Tom Gavey Alemite Park and also a lighted tennis court at Potters Creek Park.
Kiley Paving’s bids on both projects were well below the two other tenders.
The cost for the basketball court will be just over $254,000 including tax and the tennis court will cost
almost $181,000 including tax.
BUILDING UPGRADES
Some major roofing work is expected this construction season on three buildings owned by the City of Belleville.
At its meeting Monday, city council will see a staff report recommending that the roofs be replaced on the Belleville Transit Terminal and the Wallbridge Sand Dome, and on part of the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Out of five complete tenders for the work, staff is recommending that the low bidder, Dafoe Roofing Ltd., do the work at cost of just over $478,000 including tax.
