NOTICE: County to host info session for watermain extension project in Picton on May 11
A Public Information Centre (PIC) for the Millennium Trail Watermain and Finnegan Drive Roadway Extension Project will take place on Wednesday, May 11.
The County will host the in-person PIC at the Prince Edward Community Centre – Rotary Club of Picton Hall (375 Picton Main Street, Picton) from 4:30-6:30 pm.
At the PIC, the municipality will share the detailed designs of the project. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide their feedback on the upcoming construction.
The County is proposing to complete the extension of watermain servicing along the Millennium Trail, from McFarland Drive to the area of lands surrounding the existing H.J. McFarland Memorial Home. Also, as part of this project, the municipality will complete the roadway extension and construction of Finnegan Drive to allow potential development opportunities in the future.
The proposed works will involve the installation of new watermain within the Millennium Trail corridor, which will impact access to the trail system during construction. The extension of Finnegan Drive will include the installation of new underground infrastructure (watermains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers). After the underground infrastructure is installed, the roadway will be reconstructed with new concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalk, streetlighting, and a new asphalt roadway surface.
Masks are no longer mandatory to enter County of Prince Edward facilities. Though face masks are not mandatory, some people may choose to keep wearing their masks. The County encourages the public to be kind and respectful to others, regardless of whether they are wearing a mask or not.
The County encourages people visiting any County facility to conduct a self-health assessment for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering. The County asks that anyone with symptoms not visit until symptoms have cleared.
