Prince Edward County’s Secondary Suites Subsidy pilot program is now active as the municipality works towards rectifying affordable housing and rental shortages.
Homeowners and small landlords can apply for non-repayable loans of up to $25,000 to fund new or renovated suites.
Units must remain long-term rentals for at least 15 years.
Council has approved $200,000 for the pilot.
