Three officers from the Belleville Police Service were awarded the Ontario Medal for Police Bravery from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
The Ontario Medal for Police Bravery was created in 1975 and is awarded annually to honour police officers who have gone above and beyond to protect and serve their community.
Constable Adam Donaldson, Constable Ryan Laycoe, and another officer who is not being named due to his current role in the organization, have been recognized by the province for their actions where they risked their lives to save the lives of members of the community.
These heroic acts were recognized during a virtual ceremony on April 22, 2022.
