It has been a week since the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit has released any new COVID-19 data because of the long weekend and the numbers are still quite high.
The Health Unit is reporting 336 new high-risk cases today, bringing the total number of active high-risk cases to 464, which is down from last Wednesday’s active case total of 497.
There is also one new death being reported, bringing the total number of deaths in the two counties since the pandemic started to 52.
The number of active outbreaks has dropped from 19 to 16 and the number of people in hospital is sitting at 19, with three in the Intensive Care Unit.
Statistics regarding vaccine shots and booster shots remains unchanged locally. Third-dose boosters have been administered to over 89,000 residents and 83% of those aged five and up are fully vaccinated.
