Although there are no specific meetings planned, Belleville’s delegation at the upcoming Good Roads Conference will continue to make its case for another entrance to the city from Highway 401.
The conference which starts Sunday in Toronto, is back to an in-person event.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk, who will attend with Councillors Garnet Thompson, Chris Malette and Carol Feeney, is looking forward to in-person meetings and reconnecting with representatives from the government and other municipalities.
“We will be speaking with the Minister of Transportation to make sure that she understands how important the Belleville east arterial road is. And then finding out, also, other technological advances that can help the City of Belleville.”
Mayor Panciuk has previously called the Belleville east arterial road the number one issue for the future growth of the city.
