100 + Women Who Care Quinte has come through in the nick of time for an organization whose need has never been greater.
Last night the Community Development Council of Quinte (CDC) was chosen by 100 + Women Who Care as the latest community group to receive a significant financial donation.
The exact amount of the donation isn’t known yet but it will be presented to CDC in the near future.
The Community Development Council provides, food, personal items, and programming for individuals and families in Hastings and Prince Edward counties and the demand for its Good Food Box program has tripled in the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the pandemic the CDC was helping 1,200 people under the food box program but now it’s over 3,000 a month.
The organization has used up its government funding for the year so the 100 + Women’s donation couldn’t come at a better time.
