It was all about double overtime Friday night and one local Provincial Junior A team won and the other lost.
Trenton Golden Hawks at Lindsay Muskies
It’s unfortunate only 115 fans were on hand to watch a wild hockey game in Lindsay Friday night.
The Trenton Golden Hawks eventually beat the Muskies 5 to 4 by scoring 2:48 in to the second overtime period.
The G-Hawk’s Aiden MacIntosh scored the game winner. Matthew Cato scored 2 for Trenton with singles coming from Jake Campbell and Nathan Oickle.
The third period was filled with fights and two Lindsay players received game misconducts while the Golden Hawk’s Justin Mauro was tossed for inciting an opponent.
Trenton coach Pete Goulet received a bench minor at the end of the game.
Toronto Jr. Canadiens at Wellington Dukes
Even though his team lost, the Wellington Dukes goaltender was named the first star last night in a game that was finally settled with just 20 seconds left in the second overtime period.
Goalie Matthew Dunsmoor kept his Dukes in the game as they were outshot 42 to 20 at the Lehigh Arena Friday night.
Only the Toronto Jr. Canadiens’ Christian Catalano could get one by him but that was all they needed as they shut out Wellington one nothing in front of 497 fans.
Wellington is on the road and plays the Haliburton County Huskies Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
