The province is adding 69 new and 219 upgraded long-term care beds at homes in Stirling, Marmora and Napanee.
Minister of Long-Term Care Paul Calandra joined Hastings Lennox and Addington MPP Daryl Kramp in Napanee Friday to make the announcement.
Stirling Manor Nursing Home will add 21 new and 75 upgraded beds in a new building for the existing home.
Renovations to Caressant Care Marmora will add 12 new and 84 upgraded beds and 36 new and 60 upgraded beds at Friendly Manor Nursing Home in Greater Napanee.
Construction is expected to start between fall 2022 and spring 2024.
Friday’s announcement means there are now 515 new and 285 upgraded long-term care beds in development, under construction or completed in the riding.
Projects were previously announced for four long-term care centres including new ones in Madoc and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
The provincial government has made a $6.4 billion commitment to build more than 30,000 new beds by 2028 and upgrade 28,000 long-term care beds across the province.
