Whatever it was that coach Peter Goulet said to his team after the first period of last night’s game in Trenton, it worked.
After losing their first two games of the weekend and trailing 1-0 after the first period last night the Golden Hawks scored six unanswered goals in the second to rally past the Mississauga Chargers 8-4.
Dalton Bancroft led the way with two goals and an assist. Bancroft has scored 31 goals with 52 assists in 47 games for Trenton this year. Jake Campbell added a pair while Rajvir Sangha added a goal with three assists.
Rounding out the scoring for the Golden Hawks was Devin Mauro, Justin Mauro and Matthew Cato.
The G-Hawks move 3 points behind first place Wellington in the OJHL East while holding two games in hand.
Trenton is at Caledon on Thursday night.
Junior “C” series is set
The Provincial Junior “C” Hockey series between the Napanee Raiders and Picton Pirates opens tomorrow (Tuesday) night at the Strathcona Paper Centre at 7:30. Picton will host Game 2 on Thursday. The complete schedule is below:
