Brighton council will officially appoint a new fire chief at its meeting Monday evening.
Gene Thompson will become Chief of the Brighton Fire Department after leaving the Cobourg Fire Department as Acting Chief after a nine-year career there.
Also at the meeting council will decide whether or not to lift its mandatory vaccination, rapid testing, and masking policies.
And council is expected to pass a by-law allowing civil marriage ceremonies to be conducted by municipal officials.
