Two Long Term Care homes in Hastings County expect to benefit from the provincial government’s announcement to increase funding for homes across the province.
Centennial Manor in Bancroft and Hastings Manor in Belleville could have their hours of care increased from three hours per day per resident to three hours and fifteen minutes.
Hastings County CAO Jim Pine tells Quinte News it’s “a significant step toward the four hours a day” the county has been hoping for.
“It’s all designed to move to that goal of four hours of care per day per resident. In the nursing envelopes and the allied help.”
Pine says it would mean additional physical activity and individual care for the residents.
“More personal care from PSWs. More direct care from registered practical nurses. You know, from the registered nurses, the RN. Additional support in allied health services.”
Hastings Manor will receive an additional $2,206,512 and Centennial Manor will receive an extra $959,352.
The provincial announcement covered the years until 2023.
