The Municipality of Brighton has received funding to make an entrance to its municipal building more accessible.
The Enabling Accessibility Fund is providing the town with $18,472 towards the retrofitting of an exterior door that has become the primary service entrance at the municipal building during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The door does not currently meet the standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
The funding will also go towards accessible door operators being added to two doors located in a high traffic area of the Alice Street building.
