Central Hastings OPP charged a parent with assault following an incident in Marmora and Lake.
Police responded to a report of an assault between a parent and child Thursday afternoon around 3:30 and their investigation determined the level of force escalated beyond an acceptable level of parental discipline.
A 41-year-old woman was arrested.
The accused was released on an undertaking with a court appearance scheduled for the end of the month.
