The Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks each dominated in their games on Friday night.
The Dukes were home to the Mississauga Charges on Friday night and Liam Whittaker opened the scoring for Wellington late in the opening period to give them a 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.
The second period saw the Dukes continue to expand their lead with markers being added by David Campbell and Jonathan Balah for a 3-0 lead after two periods.
The final frame saw the Dukes break out of their cage and unleash a barrage of shots on net.
Campbell scored two more goals back to back at 10:20 and 13:51 mark of the period for a hat trick and a 5-0 lead.
Ellias Najem found the back of the net behind Matt Dunsmoor to get Mississauga on the board.
Emmet Pierce, Mason Reeves and Barret Joynt added markers before the final horn sounded for the 8-1 victory.
The Dukes outshot Mississauga 44-18 in the contest.
The Trenton Golden Hawks were hosting the Caledon Admirals and came away with the two points following a resounding 11-1 victory.
The home team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals from Matthew Cato, Aiden MacIntosh and Jordan Fuller.
Caledon answered back in the middle frame on a goal from Luke Perovic, but that was the only goal the Admirals would score as Nguyen William shut the door in net the rest of the game.
The Golden Hawks would score five more goals in the period as Aaron Jameison, Nathan Oickle, Jake Campbell, Fuller and Tanner McEachearn added to their tallies for a 8-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Campbell, Rajvir Sangha and Justin Mauro each scored in the third period.
The Golden Hawks outshot the Chargers 43-29.
Trenton holds a four point lead over the Dukes in the OJHL East standings but that could shrink this afternoon (Saturday) as the Golden Hawks and Dukes face off in Trenton at 3 p.m.
In PJHL action, the Napanee Raiders and Campbellford Rebels faced off.
Campbellford was on the board first with a goal from Cullen Pollock.
The 1-10 lead for the Rebels held until early in the third period when Ben Chubbs found the back of the net for the Raiders.
Benny Scarr answered back for Campbellford to regain the one goal lead but once again, Chubbs tied the game for a 2-2 game after regulation.
No goals were scored in either overtime period.
Napanee takes on the Port Hope Panthers in Port Hope at 7:30 p.m. tonight and the Amherstview Jets are in Frankford to take on the Huskies at 7:50 p.m.
