A snow squall warning is in effect for the Quinte region this morning along with a high wind warning.
Environment Canada states periods of brief but intense snowfall are expected. Visibility will be rapidly reduced due to heavy snow combined with blowing snow as strong winds gusts between 70 and 80 km/h are also to be expected as part of an Alberta clipper makes its way through the region.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapid snowfall accumulations up to 5 cm are to be expected today.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage and high winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
